Admission in Pvt Schools extended till May 25

District Collector H. Krishnanunni has said that the deadline for students to apply under the 25 per cent reservation in private schools has been extended till May 25.
In a release, he said  according to the Right to Free and Compulsory Education for Children Act, admission for the 2022-2023 academic year for the children of the underprivileged and weaker sections in all non-minority private self-funded schools is going on.

The district has 106 matric and 85 primary and kindergarten schools.  Until May 19 2,476 applied through online. Now,  the deadline for filing applications has been extended till May 25.   According to the Act, parents can apply through online for the school within 1 km distance from their houses for admission in LKG or 1st std. 
Applications can be submitted online at the Erode CEO Office, Erode, Perundurai, Gobi, Bhavani, Satyamangalam DEO Offices and Block Education Offices in 14 Unions.
At the time of filling application, documents such as birth, residential certificates, copy of hospital,  anganwadi records, written affidavit of parent or guardian to prove age, or Aadhar card of parent, child should be brought. 

Persons belonging to BC, MBC, DNC, PCM, SC, SCA, ST  should apply with the relevant caste certificate and a certificate of earning less than Rs. 2 lakhs per annum.  Any proof to prove the age of the child must be uploaded.  These certificates must be obtained from the Tahsildar.  The photo of the child should be uploaded for admission in the LKG or 1st class,  the entry level class of the concerned school.
Parents are advised to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the benefit of their children  under the Act,  he advised.
