AITUC seeks minimum wage of Rs 21000

AITUC staged a demonstration at Erode seeking a  law to fix a minimum wage of Rs.21,000/- per month in all sectors. The stir was led by its state secretary S Chinnasamy. It also demanded hike in the pension in welfare board for unorganized workers from Rs.1000 to Rs.6,000, regularisation of all workers who have worked for 240 days in government and private sectors, abolition of contract labour system in industries, steps to check rise in prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, withdrawal of electricity, house tax, drinking water tariff hikes, which put the people who were already hit over rise in the price of essential commodities into more crisis, steps to pass a resolution in TN Assembly against Centre's anti-labour laws and privatisation of PSUs.
