PSG sports club would be organizing an All India basketball tournament for men from August 3 to 7 at PSG tech indoor sports complex.
As many as eight leading teams - Punjab Police from Punjab, Indian Navy from Lonavala, Indian Bank from Chennai, Sports hostel of excellence from Chennai, Integral coach factory from Chennai, Kerala State Electricity Board from Kerala, Kerala Police from Kerala and Bank of Baroda from Bangaluru - would be taking part in the tournament.
The winners of the tournament would be honoured with Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a PSG trophy, the runners would be honoured with Rs 50,000 cash prize and a trophy while the third and fourth runners would be bestowed with Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively, The best player would be awarded with Rs 10,000 cash prize.
The teams would play on league basis from August 3 to 5. The semi-finals and finals would be conducted on August 6 and 7 respectively.
The tournament would be inaugurated by R Rudhramorthy, president of PSG sports club and K Prakash, principal of PSG tech. District collector GS Sameeran to participate in the valedictory function as the chief guest, while L Gopalakrishnan, managing trustee of PSG institutions would preside over the function.
