American Social Media Star Arrested in Australia for Wrestling Crocodile

An American social media celebrity with over one million followers, Mike Holston, has been arrested in Australia after posting a video of himself wrestling with a crocodile.
Holston, who is popular online for his wildlife-related content, recently visited the Lockhart River region in Queensland, where he encountered a group of crocodiles. In a shocking act, he grabbed one of the reptiles by the neck and filmed himself wrestling with it.
The video, which he later shared on social media, went viral and sparked outrage among wildlife enthusiasts and environmentalists. Many condemned the act as reckless and dangerous, not only to Holston himself but also to the animal.
Following the backlash, strong calls were made for his arrest. Responding to the controversy, Australian police took Holston into custody and have launched an investigation into the incident.
Environmental activists have stressed that such behavior promotes cruelty and sends the wrong message to the public about interacting with wild animals. Officials in Queensland reminded visitors that crocodiles are protected species and disturbing them is a punishable offense.
Holston, often referred to as “The Real Tarzann” online, has faced criticism in the past for his extreme handling of animals, though this is the first time he has been arrested for such an act.
Police sources said further action will depend on the outcome of the inquiry, including whether Holston violated Australia’s strict wildlife protection laws.
