The annual review meeting for the financial year 2023-2024 of the destitute and homeless recovery care centre, run by the Coimbatore District administration and Helping Hearts, was held under the guidance of Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.
Attendees included Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakaran, Pollachi Assistant Collector Catherine Saranya, Assistant Collector Angad Kumar Jain, and other government officials. The Coimbatore district administration and Helping Hearts have been instrumental in rescuing homeless and mentally troubled individuals abandoned by their families, providing them with shelter and food. They have also rescued people living on the pavements and offered them accommodation. There are six recovery centres operated by the district administration and Helping Hearts in Coimbatore. The meeting discussed the current schemes in place to help the destitute and homeless, their implementation, and ways to improve infrastructure. Additionally, they talked about raising funds through CSR initiatives from private companies.
