Anti Tobacco Awareness Campaign carried out by Saveetha Dental College

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai organized, “Protect the Environment,” emphasizing the need to reduce the harmful impact of the tobacco industry on the environment and ecosystem.

Awareness placards were distributed in Keelachery village people with high prevalence of smoking behavior and pre-cancerous lesions and conditions. Campaigners urged people to pledge and contribute against smoking considering the immense impact of smoking among young adults and addicts. The anti-tobacco counseling activity also was carried out by the Tobacco cessation cell, at the De-addiction.

Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, Founder and Chancellor, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) said as part of the event, an awareness drive was conducted for all the patients who visited the College.
