Asana festival observed with mass meal for 20,000 people at CSI Christ Church

The consecration ceremony, the Asana festival has been going on at CSI Christ Church Trichy Road in Coimbatore for 5 days. Every day, different events and unique worship services were organized.

On this particular Sunday, the special guest in the morning worship service was Bishop Chandrasekaran of the Trichy Diocese. A special service was led by the priests Rev. Rajendra Kumar, Rev. Nelson Satish, and Rev. Praveen from Coimbatore.

Asana lunch, which began at eleven o'clock, was as both the festival's centrepieceand valedictory event. The church complex was arranged with chairs and tables to seat 1200 guests simultaneously for this event. A classic South Indian meal of mutton gravy, sambar, rasam, avial, and payasam was enjoyed by 20,000 persons in total.

The cuisine was prepared by up to 50 cooks and chefs under the direction of renowned chef KoilPichai of Menjnanapuram, Thoothukudi district. Mutton weighing 2500 kg was utilized for this. Participating in the food distribution operation were 120 volunteers. Balakrishnan, the commissioner of the Coimbatore City Police mandated security from the police.
