Athikadavu project to be inaugurated by Chief Minister within a month

Athikadavu- Avinasi  water project will be inaugurated by the CM within a month, said housing Minister S Muthusamy.After a review meeting on the project, at the collectorate on Monday, he said that 98 percent of project work was completed. 

Due to some road works,  seepages were seen in some feeder lines. Beyond 6th pumping station,  a civil suit regarding 200 metre pipeline was filed by a person.  of 1045 tanks to be covered under the project,  15 tanks would alone be hit by the civil suit.  Now trial running in 4 pump houses was going on.  The rest of the trial in remaining 2 pump houses would be held shortly.  

Anyhow, all works would be completed within 20 days.   So, CM would inaugurate the project within a month.  Then separate   project would be initiated to include the left out tanks in the project.  The suggestion of including farmers under the drip irrigation system under the project would be considered, he added.
