Athikkadavu Avinasi project work to be completed by October: Minister

Athikkadavu Avinasi ground water enrichment project will be completed by October Housing Minister S Muthuswamy said today. The minister visited the installation of pipes for Athikkadavu Avinasi project works in Nasianur Pudupalayam area next to Erode.

He told the media that there was a problem in the project work in this area. In this regard, the farmers, public works department and the L and T company, which is doing the work, and held talks. So,the work has been started. Similarly, in the areas like Kalingarayan Palayam and  Nasianur, there was a small problem in the works in both the places. It will be resolved.

When the CM came to a givernment  programme at Perundurai  last month, he announced that the work of Athikadavu Avinasi project will be completed within two months and he will come and inaugurate the project. Accordingly, the work is progressing fast.The farmers have filed a petition against the turn irrigation system introduced in the LBP canal.

In this regard, the Public Works Department officials have been instructed to talk to the farmers and find a suitable solution. The farmers will be consulted regarding the modernization of the canal to reach a consensus on the issue, he added.
