Awareness rally organized at Virudhachalam farmers’ market

Students from agriculture college took part in a large number at an awareness rally that took place at Virudhachalam farmers’ market in the district on Monday. The rally went till Periyar bus depot.  
The rally was organized to mark the occasion of World Health Day. It is aimed at creating awareness among the public about maternal and newborn health, importance of agriculture, organic farming, use of agricultural machinery, value addition, seed conservation and maintenance.
The rally was attended by fourth-year undergraduate students of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, who had visited the Agricultural Science Institute in Virudhachalam to gain experience in rural agriculture, students from Anbil Dharmalingam agricultural college and research institute, JSA agricultural and technical college, Thanalakshmi Srinivasan agricultural college, and Vazhavachanur agricultural college and research institute.
