Best Tamil Scholar Award presented to Suba Thinnappan

Makkal Sinthanani Peravai President Lawyer T.Stalin Gunasekaran presented 'Thakaisal Tamil Scholar Award' to Singapore based Tamil professor Suba.Thinnappan as a recognition for his service to Tamil language at the international Tamil scholars meet held at the Erode Book Festival where scholars of ten nations were present and addressed at the meeting.
 

In his speech, S. Arokiaraj, the secretary of the Korean Tamil Sangam, South Korea, said ''It is 
necessary to make the Tamil language scientific in order to take it to the global level.  Tamil organizations all over the world should make efforts for this. Universities should give importance to research to identify talented students and create the best jobs for them at the global level. 

 Malaysian Tamil Writers Association President P. Rajendran said  ''education through mother tongue will improve the society and create good people. Knowing this, the Malaysian government has given importance to Tamil education there. There are 523 Tamil schools in Malaysia. 

There is an opportunity to study through Tamil from primary education to post-graduate studies there. Students in Tamil Nadu should also get such an opportunity,'' he felt.  Former President of Washington Tamil Sangh S. Parthasarathy said '' Books will alone guide the youth and ensure the progress of the society. In fact, books will  create required change among human beings.''  

Writers Singapore Rathina Venkatesan, France Cherar Maries, Maldives M.Himmath Ahmed Hussain, Japan C. Kamalakannan, Sri Lanka Mathivathini, Germany B. Selvakumar and Scotland Vinod Murugesan also spoke.
