Bidirectional surveillence to be fortified as polling date draws close

With the Lok Sabha General Election looming on the horizon, the prepardness of various committees and monitoring teams were comprehensively reviewed on Monday and crucial strategies and protocols requiring adherence to the election code of conduct were discussed. Notably, surveillence teams stationed at district boundaries have been tasked with bidirectional surveillance to fortify electoral oversight comprehensively. 
Salem District Electoral Officer and District Collector, Dr. R Brindadevi led the review meeting on Monday (15.04.2024) at the District Collectorate. 
Since the activation of the Election Code of Conduct, Salem district has witnessed an orchestrated deployment of monitoring mechanisms, including Flying Forces, Position Monitoring Groups, Video Vision Groups, Video Monitoring Groups, Account Verification Committees, and Subsidiary Expenditure Monitoring Committees. 
These entities have been engaged in round-the-clock surveillance endeavors to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
Emphasizing the gravity of their responsibilities, the monitoring teams have been instructed to conduct thorough vehicle inspections, ensuring meticulous scrutiny in adherence to established protocols.

The review meetingsaw the presence of senior officials, including District Revenue Officer Dr.P. Maneka and Mr. A. Sivasubramanian, the Assistant to the District Collector (Elections). 
Additionally, representatives from the Flying Squad and Stationary Vigilance Team were in attendance.
