BJP flag installed near Annamalai’s house removed

Police removed the BJP flag that was installed near the residence of BJP state president K Annamalai at Panaiyur in the 
city. 
The action was taken after a complaint alleging that the flag pole was installed without obtaining prior permission from the highways department was registered.
The BJP has scheduled the flag hoisting function next to Annamalai’s house and installed a 50-foot-long flag pole. 
Public in the locality alleged that the flagpole was hoisted without obtaining proper permission from the highways department and demanded the immediate removal of the pole. 
It eventually led to a dispute between the public and party cadres. 
Since the partymen refused to remove the pole, a police complaint was registered. 
Officials’ attempts to pacify the crowd had gone unfruitful and police brought in JCB to remove the pole. 
Partymen took violence in hand and attacked the JCB and police vehicles. Police arrested the partymen and removed the pole.
