BJP wants unity of opposition parties to defeat Cong candidate

Bharatiya Janata Party state vice-president and former MP KP Ramalingam said that all opposition parties should unite to defeat Congress candidate in Erode East bypoll as his victory would be considered as a recognition of all omissions and commissions of DMK rule. Talking to newsmen, here on Monday, he said that the BJP is firm to defeat DMK- Cong candidate in the poll.

He said that Minister Udayanidhi Stalin ridiculed ADMK leaders visit to BJP office to seek BJP's support to their candidate without knowing the past history.  In the past, late CM Karunanidhi himself sought the support of BJP and in fact his partymen got berths in Vajpayee cabinet.

He said BJP wanted to abolish HRCE department only due to widespread corruption in its administration.
The government can release white paper on temples and release separate budget.  Otherwise, it should hand over temples to pious persons,  he suggested. Modakurichi MLA Dr CK Saraswathi, District President Vedanantham and many functionaries attended the meeting.
