Books distributed to 100 education centres

Erode May 7: 
Erode Chief Education Officer Ramakrishnan inaugurated the first phase of opening of libraries in 100 centers of illam thedi kalvi scheme in Erode district at the  Rangasamudram Municipal Primary School premises, Sathy. 
He gave a keynote address by handing out books for such libraries to the volunteers of the programme. 

 School children have been suffering from learning loss as schools have been closed for two years due to the Corona epidemic.
 To compensate for this, the government introduced the scheme to relieve children from stress and entertain them with songs, stories and painting practices in the evening hours in the centres. 

Following this, it was decided to set up libraries in these centers in collaboration with the School Education Department, the School Education Protection Movement and the Sudar Organization to improve reading ability of children beyond the classroom in these centres.Following this, J. Krishnamurthy, State Secretary of the School Education Protection Movement, spoke on the need of reading good books apart from textbooks. 

Sathyamangalam Block Education Officer Saravanan, Regional Resource Center Superintendent Maheshwari, Municipal Councilor Srinivasan,  Sudar, NGO, director SC Nataraj spoke on the occasion.Rs 1 lakh worth books were distributed to 100 education centers in the Sathy area.
