Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday honoured 51 people with various awards including Tamil Semmal at the Secretariat in the city. The event was organized by the Tamil development department.
The Chief Minister also distributed entitlement amount to eight Tamil writers including Viduthalai Rajendran and Nellai C Dhiwan after nationalizing their books. Books of later writer Nellai Kannan, Kantharvan, Somale, Virudhunagar Rassaiah and Thanjai Prakash were also nationalized.
Stalin handed over Rs 1 crore as entitlement amount to the writers who wrote for the development of Tamil language and for the upliftment of the society, after nationalizing their books. Tamil Semmal award for the year 2021 was bestowed to 38 Tamil scholars and best translators awards to 10 people.
