Brain dead woman donates organs to 6 persons at KMCH

Jayamani, age 52, wife of Perumal, living at  Melparakadu, Thanner Pandhal Palayam (Post), Modamangalam, Kumarapalayam Taluk, Namakkal District, met with an accident at 6.45 pm on June 8, at Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. Immediately she was taken to KMCH, Coimbatore, for specialized treatment. 

During the treatment she didn't respond much and was declared brain dead on June 9. The family stood 
clueless and Perumal & family members came forward generously to donate her organs. 
Multi Organ Transplant Surgeons' team harvested Liver, Kidneys, Eyes, and Skin from her body in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Transplant Authority, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.  

The harvested organs i.e. One Kidney and Liver were transplanted at KMCH, Eyes, One Kidney & Skin  was sent to Private Hospital at Coimbatore. The family members felt proud that her organs gave new lease of lives to 6 needy people. In honouring their gesture, Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH thanked the family for their bold and timely decision on organ donation. He added that this act of generosity will bring in more awareness 
towards this nobel cause.
