Campaign against gender based violence at Tirupur

Tirupur District Collector Mr. T Chrishturaj flagged off the national awareness campaign against sexual violence on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Movement at the collectorate on Monday.
The rally started from the District Collector's premises and ended at the Government Women's Arts College via Thennampalayam. It focused on prevention of child marriage, eradication of drug and alcohol abuse, prevention of sexual violence against children, protection from domestic violence against women, and increase in the birth rate of girls.  More than 500 women SHGs participated in this awareness rally.
In this rally, Project Director (Women Project) Mr. Sam Santhakumar, District Social Welfare Officer Mrs. Ranjitadevi and related government officials participated.
