Canara Bank scholarship camp held in Erode

Canara Bank, the lead bank for Erode district, organised a financial inclusion camp for all at the CD Building Hall here today.
K.A. Sindhu, Chief General Manager, and G. Saravanan, Head of the Regional Office, delivered the welcome address and elaborated on the bank’s various service schemes.
As part of the camp, scholarships under the Canara Vidya Jyothi scheme were distributed to students. Erode Corporation Commissioner Arpit Jain and District Revenue Officer Santhakumar, who attended as special guests, handed over the scholarships and addressed the gathering.
The event saw the participation of Saphal S. Sathyan, Divisional Manager of the bank; Vivekananth, Lead Bank Manager; and S. Yazhini, Financial Inclusion Manager
Additional services were also provided at the camp, including the opening of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) savings accounts, reactivation of dormant PMJDY accounts, and registration for various life, accident, and pension insurance schemes.
Bank officials provided detailed information on key government schemes, raising awareness about:
* Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana: Offering a life insurance cover of ₹2 lakh for an annual premium of ₹436.
* Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana: Providing an accident insurance cover of ₹2 lakh for an annual premium of ₹20.
* Atal Pension Yojana: A pension scheme offering a monthly pension ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000.
More than 100 students and around 250 customers attended and benefited from the camp.
