Cargo handling at Coimbatore Airport witnesses 22 pc Growth

In the post pandemic outbreak, the aviation sector has slowly started to witness a steady growth both in the passengers movement and cargo handling.

The Integrated Air Cargo complex established at Coimbatore International Airport premises is serving across the nation and abroad.

Both the passenger movement and Cargo handling got very badly affected during 2020-21 financial year due to 'Covid-19' virus outbreak. But during the 2021-22 financial year the Airport has witnessed a steady growth.
 

The cargo handling at Coimbatore International Airport has witnessed 22% overall growth which includes both domestic and international services.

During 2020-21 Financial year 6,560 Metric tonnes and in 2021-22 Financial year 8,062 Matric tonnes of cargo has been handled. 

Since the flight services in the domestic and international sector started to witness more passenger movements, it is expected that the overall cargo handling also would further witness a good growth in the upcoming days.
