Cases of sexual violence against women on the rise

Recently, cases of sexual violence against women and girls have been increasing significantly. A strong section of the law called POCSO flows against those involved in these crimes.

The culprits are even sentenced to 20, 30 years in prison. But it is worrying that this type of crime is increasing instead of decreasing. In India, 31,677 cases of sexual assault were registered in 2021. On an average, 86 cases of sexual assault are registered daily. 49 cases are registered every hour related to crimes against women.

Crimes against women increased by 15.3 percent in 2021 compared to 2020, according to India's National Crime Records Bureau (NCRP). These statistics are shocking. There is a need to speed up action against sex offenders. Let the crimes decrease at least in the coming years!
