Cauvery Calling Movement plants I. 59 lakh saplings

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Isha's Cauvery Calling Movement has planted 1.59 lakh timber tree saplings in agricultural lands in TN and Puducherry, covering an area of ​​about 1,800 acres. 

It is a largest environmental movement, regularly conducting massive tree planting ceremonies and converting farmers from mono-crop agriculture to tree-based agriculture based on a subsistence economy.

Plantation of trees in the catchment areas of the Cauvery river is very necessary. So, Isha has planned to plant 242 crore trees in the agricultural lands of TN and Karnataka.

So far, Isha has distributed around 9 crore saplings to the farmers. Last year alone, one crore trees were planted in agricultural lands in TN. A target of planting 1.10 crore trees in the current financial year has been set and so far 45 lakh trees have been planted.
