The Centre is not cooperating to the state in carrying out various development works, charged Housing Minister S Muthusamy. Addressing the DMK South district unit cadres meeting held here on Wednesday, he said that Sports Minister Udayanidhi Stalin promoted sports much so that he sanctioned 2 indoor stadiums for CN College and Solar areas in Erode.
Erode CN College has 53 acre land and the college is in 10 acre. As the aided college founded by Periyar family has faced some problem so that the government adminitered over the college.
In the land there, it was planned to create indoor stadium, IAS academy and a big library. A bill was passed in the Assembly to take over the college and the Govenor gave accent to it. However the bill didn't get the President's accent for the past 2 years as the Centre didn't cooperate to the state's development projects.
Similarly lot of hurdles were existed in carrying out many schemes. To complete all the development schemes, DMK has to rule over 25 to 30 years. What is wrong in thinking about it as DMK rule has done a lot for the state. For Erode, the CM sanctioned 2 central bus stands at Solar and Ganiravutharkumam, he noted. He said after the victory in LS poll, people of the entire nation viewed the CM as national leader. He said the CM's schemes like free bus travel, mahalir urimai thogai, Tamil Pudalvan, Pudumai Pengal, Naan Mudalvan, school breakfast, etc could not be seen in any other state.
When he announced mahalir urimai Thogai thittam, opposition leader EPS raised doubt that it would be given for few lakhs and then the scheme would be stopped. But now 1.17 cr women were getting the benefits. The CM ordered to consider the pending petitions under the scheme. The morning breakfast scheme helped many to send their wards to schools as they, mostly coolie workers, were not able to cook breakfast in their homes. Similarly, the Pudumai Pengal scheme improves college admissions by 30 percent. It would increase women literacy more. As boys also sought the aid, the CM introduced Tamil Pudalvan scheme, he noted.
