Chennai Medical Team investigates Ovum sales issue

Officials of director of medical services, Chennai, have conducted an inquiry into the case of taking and selling the ovum of a 16 year old girl in Erode.
The mother of a girl from Erode was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly selling her eggs to private hospitals.

The investigation revealed that the foster father had raped the girl and sold the eggs more than 8 times in private hospitals in various districts including Erode, Perundurai, Coimbatore and Salem with the cooperation of the girl's mother. So,  he was also held. 
Police also arrested John Ottun John (25), a resident of Surampatti, Bharathipuram, Erode, for allegedly tampering the girl's aadhar card, for selling ovum . He and an agent Malathi were held. 

ADSP Kanakeswari on Saturday night questioned the doctors and nurses of 2 private hospitals in Perundurai, Erode in connection with the sale of the girl's ovum. 
In this situation, a 6-member medical team led by doctors Gurunathan and Viswanathan from the Directorate of Medical Services in Chennai came to Erode to investigate the issue.

The team questioned the victim, who is in government custody on Sunday morning.  Following this, the medical team went to the Erode South Police Station to investigate the case and collected documents.  The team is also said to be planning to conduct direct inspections at the concerned private hospitals.
