Citizens Voice Coimbatore suggests ways to reduce accidents

Citizens Voice Coimbatore president C.M. Jayaraman and coordinator P Subramanian sent letters to the CM,  Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, Coimbatore Collector and Commissioner giving the following suggestions to decrease accident rate: The condition of most of the roads especially Mill Road, Selvapuram, Puttu Vikki road, Kurichi Piruvu, Podanur,Thadagam Rd, Edayarpalayam Rd (Kanuvai), Nanjundapuram Rd led to accidents. So, the roads should be properly maintained.
The Traffic Police must enforce rules and penalize motorists, violating traffic rules.
Traffic Police & RTO officials issue strict warning to all automobile dealers to ban horns which emanate sound beyond the specified limit of 112 decibels. Number of two wheelers move without registered number plates. Incentives can be given to general public who report such violations.
Many cars violate usage of tinted glass or sun control films norms.Traffic Police / RTO officials can take action on suppliers of such things.  Sudden stoppage of city buses (both operated by Govt. & Private) right in the middle of the road should be checked.
Heavy fines should be imposed on violations, driving licence of repeated offenders be cancelled,  imprisonment, cameras, mobile handheld cameras, camouflaged cameras installed on non-department police vehicles, signal tracker systems using AI technology etc be considered.
