CITU plea to withdraw MV Act 2019

CITU Transport Workers Union appealed to the government to withdraw Motor Vehicle Act 2019 due to various drawbacks in it which affected the livelihood of transport workers. 

The union, at its district conference held here on Sunday, adopted  resolutions seeking removal of toll gates for which licence period was already expired, withdrawal of fee hikes made by the government in the RTO offices, reduction of tolls, withdrawal of a procedure of the police in slapping fine online on drivers without their knowledge, etc. 

CITU district secretary Sriram, Union president Selvaraj, vice presidents  Kandasamy, Sadasivam, treasurer Danabal, general secretary Kanagaraj, union functionaries Madappan, Subramanian, Marimuthu, Kuppusamy and Muruganandam attended.
