The city-based PSGR Krishnammal college for women has secured fourth place in rank list released by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
NIRF has been releasing rank lists based on the performance of the colleges every year. The lists would be released separately for engineering and arts and science colleges. This year, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Madras has secured the first place in the rank list released for engineering colleges. PSGR Krishnammal college for women has secured the fourth place in the rank list released for arts and science colleges. As many as nine city-based colleges has secured a rank within top 100 places in the list.
Speaking to reporters, managing trustee of Krishnammal college Nandini said, “Out of 2,746 arts and science colleges in the country, we have secured the fourth place in the rank list. For the seven consecutive years, the college has been secured a good rank in the list. We have been working towards going up in the rank list in the upcoming years.”
She thanked the teachers, students and parents for working hard to achieve the rank. College secretary Yasoda, professors Balasubramaniam and Raja Rajeswari were present at the event. College principal Meena is likely to travel to New Delhi to receive the certificate.
