City buses not curtailed: Muthusamy denies Sengottaiyan's allegation

No town bus has been curtailed since the establishment of fare-free bus facility for women, Housing Minister S Muthuswamy said today after he inaugurating new buses to Rameswaram Kumbakonam Rajapalayam from Erode Central Bus Station.
In response to a question about former Minister KA Sengottaiyan and former Chief Minister Edappadi Palanichamy constantly alleging that the number of city buses has been reduced, he said that no city bus has been stopped and they are plying on its routes as usual. If women are at the bus stops they have to be allowed to travel.
Tamil Nadu government plans to buy 1266 new buses this year. Chief minister has inaugurated 100 buses in Chennai today. 10 of the 13 buses allotted to Erode division are included in the 100 buses. The remaining three buses are being inaugurated in Erode today. A total of 51 new buses have been sought for the Erode  zone, of which 13 buses have arrived. The already damaged buses will be replaced gradually.
The Chief Minister can take a decision on giving deputy CM post to Minister Udayanidhi. The DMK Election manifesto Committee  has been set up in which senior leaders have been appointed. When the committee comes to the district, decisions related to the district will be recommended, he added.
