City Rider Harshit Gallops to Glory – To Represent India at Youth Asian Games in Bahrain

Coimbatore’s young equestrian talent Harshit from Covai Stables Equestrian Training Institution has earned the honour of representing India at the Youth Asian Games to be held later this month in Bahrain.

The achievement marks a proud milestone for Covai Stables, which continues to nurture riders who excel in national and international events.

Founder and Chief Coach Saravanan said Harshit’s selection reflects the institution’s dedication and training standards. “Since our establishment in 2022, our riders have been participating in several top-level competitions. Harshit’s selection is a result of their discipline, commitment, and the strong training system we follow,” he said.

Saravanan added that Covai Stables focuses on skill development and discipline to promote equestrian sports in India.

A Class X student, Harshit thanked his coaches and team for their support. “I’ve been riding for eight years, and the facilities and encouragement here have helped me grow. Balancing school and sport is tough, but with planning and determination, it’s possible,” he said.

Harshit also shared his dream of representing India at the Olympics. “It’s the ultimate goal for any sportsperson. I carry the pride of my stable, my coaches, and my country,” he added.

Senior Coach Sriram said anyone between the ages of 5 and 50 can learn horse riding, while Senthil emphasized the team effort between the rider, the horse, and the coach, appreciating the vital role parents play in motivating young riders.
