Cleanliness workers strike work

The cleanliness workers of  Government hospitals, who are working through 2 external agencies, went on strike on Saturday demanding minimum wages fixed by the government. 
Staging a demo near Erode GH, they said the district administration fixed Rs. 707 per day to the employees as minimum wage. 

The external agencies receiving this amount are paying only Rs 280 per day to the sanitation workers. They wanted full wages as determined, PF, ESI, Bonus, rest rooms and dress changing rooms for them in all government hospitals, 8 hours of work norm, and works of nurses should not be imposed  on sanitation workers. According to the MoU with the agencies, 8,000 sanitation workers are working in the district. They emphasized to  confirm whether they are working in this number. Union State General Secretary Tamilselvi and administrators attended the stir.
