As coronavirus cases are on the rise in many districts, Chief Minister M.K Stalin held discussions with public health officials today.Corona virus cases are on the rise over the last two weeks in Tamilnadu today. It has reached a peak in the last two days.
Corona is rising without any control in Kerala and Maharashtra following which the Union Government has cautioned state governments to take action to control it.
Many state governments have started to take measures to control the rise of the virus. Wearing mask has been made compulsory in Maharashtra.
In Tamilnadu when DMK came to power the number of infections daily was 26000. It was brought under control after Chief Minister M.K Stalin took serious steps.
As a result the spread was controlled within few months. Restrictions were withdrawn and life returned to normal.In the last two months, the daily infection rate was below 100. But on friday alone the cases were more than 100. Daily infection i is expected to rise to more than 200 all over the state.
Against this development the Chief Minister M.K Stalin held discussions with health officials in the secretariat.
Present were Chief Secretary Dr. V.Irai Anbu, Health Secretary Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, Special Secretary Senthil Kumar, Director of Public Health Selvavinayagam and DGP, Sylendra Babu and other senior officials from various departments.
The discussion were held about intensifying measures in districts with higher cases, monitoring people from other states and esting people with symptoms. It was also discussed about imposing compulsory mask wearing and whether additional controls could be imposed.The Chief Minister told the officials to keep adequate beds ready in hospitals. Few controls are likely to be imposed in Tamilnadu to mitigate the rise
of cases. An announcement on this is likely to be made by the Chief Minister in a couple of days said official sources.
