CM Stalin pens a letter to TN people before flying to the US

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin penned a heartfelt letter to DMK activists ahead of his visit to the United States, reassuring them that his attention remains firmly on Tamil Nadu, despite crossing the ocean.
The letter emphasises that the purpose of his trip is to generate revenue for the state and advance its economic development.
Chief Minister Stalin outlined that the Tamil Nadu government has set an ambitious economic target of reaching a one trillion US dollar economy.
This goal aims to revitalise the state's industrial sector, which had stagnated under the previous regime, and attract substantial investments that will create widespread employment and foster economic growth.
He described his trip to the U.S. as a continuation of this effort, where he will engage with potential investors and corporate leaders to bring new opportunities to Tamil Nadu.
Stalin recounted previous international trips to the UAE, Singapore, Japan, and Spain, where he successfully signed MoUs with renowned global companies to establish factories and bring investments to Tamil Nadu.
He highlighted that the state has already attracted investments worth approximately Rs 10 lakh crore over the last three years, thanks to initiatives like the World Investors Conference held in Chennai in January 2024.
The government has been actively monitoring and coordinating the implementation of these MoUs, ensuring that factories are swiftly set up and employment opportunities are created. The letter also mentioned the recent Tamil Nadu Investor Conference held on August 21, where 19 completed projects worth Rs 17,616 crore were launched, foundation stones were laid for 28 projects worth Rs 51,157 crore, and over 1 lakh jobs were created.
In the last three years, the government's efforts have resulted in the creation of 31 lakh jobs, both directly and indirectly, across various districts of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin expressed pride in Tamil Nadu's growing reputation as a top destination for investors, with multinational companies actively working to establish their presence in the state.
He described his US visit as another crucial step towards achieving the one trillion-dollar economy target.
During his trip, Stalin will participate in an investor meeting in San Francisco on August 29, address the Tamil diaspora on August 31, and meet CEOs of Fortune 500 companies from August 27 to September 14 to invite them to invest in Tamil Nadu.
The letter also highlighted the significance of his meeting with the Tamil community in Chicago on September 7, marking 43 years since a Tamil Nadu Chief Minister last visited the US in an official capacity.
Stalin expressed confidence that this meeting would be a joyous occasion for both him and the Tamil diaspora. The Chief Minister assured that the government's work in Tamil Nadu would continue without interruption during his absence.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining control, speed in action, and focus on words. Stalin urged his ministers and party leaders to ensure that the government's and DMK's work continues seamlessly, responding to critics with actions rather than words.
Stalin concluded his letter by expressing pride in the government's achievements and confidence in his team's ability to uphold the state's progress during his time abroad.
