CM to visit Erode district on November 27: Minister

Chief Minister MK Stalin will attend a government function to be held in Gobi on November 27 to inaugurate various development projects in Erode district, said Housing Minister S Muthusamy.
He told reporters at the Collector’s office: 85 development projects have been launched in Erode district since the DMK government took charge. Currently, approval for 16 more projects has been sought from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
The project to fill the ponds in Anthiyur area with excess water from Mettur Dam and the project to remove the condition pattas already issued in Anthiyur area are important among them.
Due to the current rains, five overpasses in Sathyamangalam TN Palayam were washed away by rain water. Work is underway to repair them. Work will be done to build high-level bridges in those areas.
BJP leader Nainar Nagendran criticizes that about Rs 750 crore worth liquor was sold in Tamil Nadu on the eve of Diwali. The government has not encouraged the sale of liquor in any way.  Every year, alcohol sales increase during Diwali. It would be surprising if alcohol sales increase during normal times.
The Tamil Nadu government has already closed 500 liquor shops. Only those who have already applied have been allowed to sell alcohol in manamagizh mandram. According to the court order, an additional Rs. 10 is charged per bottle in liquor shops.
If a liquor bottle is returned, ten rupees are returned. Many shops do not have space to store the liquor bottles, so those liquor bottles are collected by vehicles. People are facing problems due to empty liquor bottles being broken in public places and agricultural lands.
That is why the system of collecting liquor bottles was started in the Nilgiris district as per the court order. This is being practiced throughout Tamil Nadu. A bill is given for the additional ten rupees charged. This entire additional amount is taken into account. But some people misunderstand this and speak.
