CM to visit Kovai on Sept 22

Housing Minister S. Muthusamy said the Chief Minister is going to visit Coimbatore on Sept 22 and 23 and study various development projects in Coimbatore district.

In Coimbatore city, 27 completed projects worth Rs.11.08 crores were inaugurated for public use, foundation stones were laid for 558 new projects worth Rs.67.48 crores, and government welfare schemes worth Rs.32.12 cr were given to 703 beneficiaries (totalling Rs 110.68 cr) by K. N. Nehru, Minister for Municipal Administration and S Muthusamy, Minister for Housing and Urban Development.

 In his speech, Minister KN Nehru said the CM has given Rs.24000 crores to Municipal Administration Department, including Rs.3000 cr to Chennai Corporation. In this, 21 Municipal Corporations have been allocated Rs.5000 crores, 138 Municipalities Rs.4000  crores and 480 Municipal Corporations Rs.4800 crores. The Union Government has awarded the first prize to the Coimbatore Corporation for its excellent implementation of the Smart City Plan. 

Director for Municipal Administration Su.Sivarasu, District Collector Kranthikumar Padi,  Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, MPs PR.Natarajan and K. Shanmugasundaram presided. Municipal Corporation Commissioner M. Pratap delivered the welcome speech. 

Deputy Mayor Ra.Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioners Dr S.Selvasurabi, and K.Sivakumar many attended the function.
