Erode District Central Cooperative Bank Employees Union and Erode District Cooperative Employees Union organized a dharna at Erode to press various demands on Tuesday.
The unions decided to hold a series of protests from 4-7-2022 to 12.8.2022 urging the State Registrar to immediately resolve the problems of the co-operative bank employees from all walks of life across Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, on July 18, the members took part in the protest wearing the demand vest. Following this, a dharna protest was held. Sreedharan, Honorary President of Erode Central Co-operative Bank Employees Union, led the stir.
Panneerselvam, General Secretary of Erode District Central Co-operative Bank Retired Employees Association, Vinayakamurthy of Erode District Central Co-operative Bank Employees Association, Palanichami, President of District City Co-operative Bank Employees Association took the lead.
They have demanded Rs 10,000 as compassionate retirement pay to those who have already retired from the co-operative bank, pension to existing employees and pay revision pending for the past 2 years.
In Central Co-operative Banks, 25 per cent of the assistant manager posts should be filled through promotions. The dharna protest was held with various demands, including the immediate publication of the seniority list of employees employed in cooperative banks by SRB.
