Coimbatore Book Festival to be held from July 19 to 28

 Coimbatore District Administration and CODISSIA will jointly hold 8th edition of Coimbatore Book Festival 2024 from July 19 to 28, said District Collector Kranthi Kumar Padi.

The coordination committee meeting regarding the fair was held under the chairmanship of District Collector.

 Additional Collector (Development) Ms.Swetasuman Assistant Collector (Training) Mr.Angathkumar Jain, Personal Assistant to Collector Mrs.M.Kokila, District Library Officer Mr.Rajendran, Coimbatore. Book Festival President Mr. K. Ramesh, CODISSIA President Mr. Karthikeyan, Book Festival Vice President Mr. Rajesh,  former president of the book festival Mr Vijay Anand and many government officials attended. 

Later, the Collector said  books on lakhs of titles will be displayed and sold in 250 halls in the fair. Renowned publishers from the states will participate in this book fair. Lakhs of visitors are going to see this exhibition. This book festival is going to be inaugurated by the honorable ministers. The District Collector, Municipal Police Commissioner, Members of Parliament, Corporation Commissioner, representatives of local bodies will participate in the ceremony. Famous literary personalities and artistes will present daily in the art, literary events, special programs, poet's theater, essay competition, speech competition, awareness drama etc. The officers of the concerned departments should work in coordination and carry out all the necessary tasks for the successful conduct of the book festival. Book lovers, students and general public are invited to participate in this 10-day book fair to encourage reading, he added.
