Coimbatore Collector chairs grievance redressal meeting

District collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar on Monday chaired a grievance redressal meeting at his office in the city. In the meeting, he received petitions on various demands including old age pension, patta name transfer, house site pattas, and new ration cards.
As many 72 petitions were received requesting free housing, 158 petitions requesting house site pattas, 5 petitions requesting employment opportunities, and 194 other petitions, amounting to a total of 429 petitions received. The collector handed these petitions over to the concerned departmental officials and instructed them to take swift action within the stipulated time.
He also distributed welfare aids to 12 beneficiaries including welfare board identity cards to 6 beneficiaries, a cheque of Rs 25,000 as financial assistance to purchase a two-wheeler under the scheme for providing two-wheelers to Islamic scholars (Ulama), and liquid-fuel-based ironing boxes to five beneficiaries.
District revenue officer Sharmila, district backward classes welfare officer Sangeetha, TADCO general manager Maheswari, and others attended the meeting.
