Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati visited the Peedampali panchayat in Sulur on June 3 to inspect the construction sites and meet beneficiaries of the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam scheme.
Before this, the district collector visited the LIHS colony and urged the officers to complete the flyover project within two months, warning that severe action would be taken against the contractor if there were any delays.
Tamil Nadu CM Stalin introduced the Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam scheme to provide free houses for people below the poverty line, aiming to replace huts in rural areas with concrete houses. He announced that 1 lakh houses would be constructed in the year 2024-2025. Sixteen beneficiaries from the Sulur area have been selected for the scheme. The district collector visited these beneficiaries and participated in selecting the construction sites for their houses. Pattanam Panchayat Council President Gomathi Selvakumar, District Development Officers Muthuraj, Hemalatha, and other government officials were present during the visit.
