Coimbatore is seen as a medical city: AHP

Association of Healthcare providers (AHP) Director General Dr Girdhar Gyani said that Coimbatore has become the medical city for the country, he said it during the 50th anniversary celebration of KG multi-specialty hospital in the city. 
A modernized robotic equipment to perform heart surgery was inaugurated during the event. 
Hospital Chairman Dr G Bakthavathsalam, Dr Mahesh Verma Chairperson, National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare providers, Prof Minu Bajpai   Vice President & Hony. Executive Director NBEMS Dr Ashok Bakthavathsalam and other doctors attended the event. 
A book was released and several awards were distributed during the event. Speaking to reporters Gyani said, “We appreciate the services provided by the hospital during its 50th anniversary celebrations. At the national-level, Coimbatore is seen as a medical city. 
It  has several hospitals with thousands of bed facilities.Only Chennai and Coimbatore have more than 50% of hospitals with more than 100 bed facilities.” Health service in India is better than western countries, said Bakthavathsalam.
