Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle organises Saree Walkathon to raise funds for a social cause

Coimbatore witnessed a vibrant display of tradition and philanthropy as the Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle 37 (CPLC37) organised the Saree Walkathon, a 2.5 km walk promoting women empowerment and education. The event, held under Ladies Circle India and Ladies Circle International, saw women from all walks of life draped in sarees, walking in unity for a noble cause.
The walkathon served as a fundraiser supporting initiatives such as Educate to Enlighten and Freedom through Education, along with other community service projects aimed at empowering women and underprivileged communities.
The event was sponsored by Radiant Properties and Classic Raja Car Decor, with PACE Event Planners ensuring smooth execution. The walk began with an energetic warm-up session led by Beledi Instructor Hema (beledi.fit). Rao Hospital provided medical support, while Popular Water, Inspira Protein Bar, and MD Fruits kept participants hydrated.
Security was maintained by the city police, ensuring a safe and seamless experience. RUH Early Years School partnered as the venue host, and IAB Team captured the event through photography.
The walkathon saw overwhelming participation from the Indian Army Fraternity, NCC Coimbatore, Family Welfare Organization (FWO) of the 35 Field Regiment-Madukkarai, Tangent Tango No.27, Sangini Group, and students and teachers of Sindhi International School.
As the event concluded, the organisers expressed gratitude for the widespread support, emphasizing that the Saree Walkathon was more than just a walk—it was a movement for education and empowerment.
