Coimbatore will witness the Culture, Craft & Cuisine of Nagarathar also known as Chettiars at the first-ever Chettinadu Thiruvizha to be held at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex Hall D on Jan.7 and 8. This event is being held in association with Coimbatore Vizha. v At a press meet, arranged on Wednesday by the Nagarathar Entrepreneurs Union (NEU), V.Ramu, Chairman of this Chettinadu Thiruvizha, T.Manivannan, Convener, NEU and Muthuraman, MD, Lakshmi Ceraamics said 'Replicas of 9 temples that
are auspicious to the Chettinadu People will be made and displayed inside the exhibition hall.'
80 stalls highlighting the Chettinadu Architecture, Food, Craftsmanship, Jewellery, Sarees, Traditional Games will be on display on both days. The entry is made free for all to walk in and watch the while a special pass for Rs.1000 will provide lot of privileges like the opportunity to cook Chettinadu food, make Aathangudi Tiles, play Traditional games, and have one meals (veg or non-veg) as per their choice.
Special cultural events will also take place with performances from Kalakapovadhu Yaru Thangadurai and Ramar. Super Singer Mansi is also performing during the Thiruvizha. Fusion Music show will also be held. Rs.80 lakh will be spent by NEU to make this event a memorable one for all.
