Coimbatore Vizha is back with a bang!

The fourteenth edition of Coimbatore Vizha- an iconic event of the city is all set to be launched on April 9. 

The event is an initiative facilitated by many organisations and individuals for the last 13 years to celebrate the rich and vibrant hues of Coimbatore embellishing its culture, arts and many more. While the previous year’s event was hurdled by the pandemic and certain events going virtual, this year, the Vizha is back in its form to welcome the Coimbatoreans with enthusiasm.Coimbatore Vizha 2022 will be the 14th Edition since its inception in 2009. 

This Edition of Coimbatore Vizha is scheduled between 9th – 17th April 2022. Coimbatore Vizha through the years has been a celebration for the people of Coimbatore, by the people of Coimbatore, true to this spirit of celebration a plethora of events have been planned. “With more than a hundred partnering associations coming forward to support the event by conducting a variety of events this year, we are sure there will be something for every citizen of Coimbatore,” an official release from the organisers read.  

SYMPHONY BY THE LAKE:
The Coimbatore Vizha Team has planned a novel event ‘Symphony by the Lake’- a grand Celebration symbolising the Spirit of Kovai at the Valankulam Lake.  A little-known fact about Coimbatore is that the city has 7 beautiful lakes. 

To Celebrate these lakes and the beauty around them, the Vizha team has organised Coimbatore’s First-Ever Water Screen Laser, Sound and Light Show – “Symphony by the Lake” Aptly titled Netru-Indru-Naalai, a special video show has been planned to put together the chronicles of Coimbatore. 

Come watch this special show on a water screen for the first time in Coimbatore. An entire street has been cordoned off for this first-of-its-kind event. 

There will be a minimum of 6 shows daily from 7:00 pm onwards on all days of the event. Being an event for the people of Coimbatore, the Vizha Team has organised this as a completely free-to-view experience for all the Coimbatore citizens with no entrance fee being charged.

ART STREET:
Just as Coimbatore Vizha celebrates every aspect of Coimbatore, Art Street / Oviya Santhai is a celebration of art and artists! Oviya Santhai has been a part of Coimbatore Vizha right from its inception. 
Art street provides a platform for the people of Coimbatore to celebrate and cherish art in various forms. 

Art Street 2022 will be an in-person event in accordance with all the Covid-19 guidelines) happening on the 9th and 10th of April, 2022 at Race Course, Coimbatore.“We have planned a variety of art installations along the walker’s path and 70 artists have registered to be a part of  Art Street this year! We have over 14 in-person
