Collector appreciates students

District Collector Dr. G.S. Sameeran appreciated the students who won awards at the World Young Inventors Exhibition jointly organized by HSNC University and ARCOMM in Mumbai  on January 22. In the expo, 70 works were selected for the final round from more than 350 inventions from many countries including India, USA, Germany, China, Netherlands, Switzerland, Oman, Dubai and United Arab States. Three schools including Arogyamata Matric Higher Secondary School, Pollachi Udumalai Road, Coimbatore District, were selected from Tamil Nadu.

The first prize for the invention of Rainwater Harvesting and Modern Irrigation was won by a 4th std student of the school named B.H.Saiadith, a student of the fourth standard. In the group event, a team consisting of the students of the sixth standard, M.Mubashshir, S.Ayesha Heena, M.Prakatish, R.Shanvi won 2nd prize for innovating a crutch that makes sound and a vibrating glove for the visually impaired.

Innovator Center Award

M Arpitha and R. T. Vijesh Srinav's work -an active security vault that sounds an alarm- also won second prize. Also, the invention of a crutch that makes sound for the visually impaired and a glove that vibrates have won a  Commercial Award.

Also, the Best Innovator Center Award went to Arogya Mata Matric Higher Secondary School and the Visionary Leader (Education) Award to the principal of the school, Sister Jismaria.  The students and management of the school have received a total of six awards in the expo of young inventors' works held at the global level. For this purpose, the District Collector Dr. G. S. Sameeran appreciated the awardees.
