The district collector Kranthi Kumar Pati on Friday took part in the school management committee meeting that was organized at Ramakrishnapuram government girls higher secondary school in
the city.
The Chief Educational Officer (CEO) Jaishankar, assistant project director of ICDS Ilamurugan, school management committee head Tamil Selvi, assistant head Amudha and others took part in the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, the collector said, “Parents and other members of the committee should attend the meeting and express their opinions without fail. Parents should ensure that their wards are attending their schools regularly because their attendance drops during regular classes.
They should also discuss with teachers to enhance their children’s studying abilities.”
Pati said that parents should constantly monitor their children to ensure that they don’t have any other problems and are not under stress.
“Parents should express their opinions to enhance facilities at the school and discuss with teachers to guide their children in pursuing higher studies,” he added.
“Under ‘our school shinning school’ programme various awareness programmes like importance of personal hygiene, growing vegetable garden in school grounds, how to safeguard oneself, are conducted.
As a part of it, special school cleaning activities would be organized from January 8 to 10. Works to identify school dropouts have been going on from August” he added.
