Collector H Krishnaunni inaugurated an awareness programme on vocational guidance and skill training for differently abled persons on the occasion of vocational awareness week at the District Employment and Vocational Guidance Centre, Erode.
Collector said ''the awareness week is observed in the second week of July every year to create awareness about various courses, employment opportunities and competitive exams. An awareness programme for diffabled is arranged and for those who are not able to participate in this training, arrangements have been made to get training through online. Training is given to the educated and interested youth to improve their educational standards, employment opportunities, self-employment through government schemes, competitive exams. Around 56 differently abled people have participated in this event.''
On July-12, the programme will be held at Kamadenu College of Arts and Science, Sathy and destitute widows at the District Employment centre, on July-13, it will be held for transgender at the Collector's Office premises and on July-14, it will be held at the District Employment Center, on National Skill Day on July 15, it will be held at the government ITI. The awareness programme was also held in the employment office in the hill areas of Thalawadi, Kadampur and Bargur through online.
Later, he inaugurated PM's National Apprentice training programme are the government ITI, Erode. About 30 private sector companies participated in this camp. Also, out of 400 students registered in this camp, 40 people have been selected for skill development training. Out of the selected people, he gave the order for skill training to 6 people today. Also, those selected for this training are given a stipend of Rs.9,000/- to Rs.12,000/-.
On this occasion, Assistant Director (Erode District Employment and Vocational Guidance Centre) M. Maheshwari, Assistant Director (Skill Training Officer) Manokaran, District Diffabled Welfare Officer Kothaiselvi, District Career Guidance Center Manager Mr. Maruthappan, District Employment Officer (Professional guidance work) Jyothi and related department officers also participated.
