District collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar on Wednesday inaugurated ‘Ungalai thedi ungal ooril’ scheme at Karumathampatti municipality office in the district. He inspected various areas, received petitions from the public, and ordered concerned officials to take immediate actions on the petitions.

The collector said, under the scheme, he will visit taluks once a month to inspect government offices, hear people’s grievances and ensure that all welfare schemes and services
reach people without obstruction. All assigned officials in each department will be conducting inspections in their assigned villages in Sulur.
He insisted on working together to find solutions to issues. “They should directly visit schools
to inspect whether drinking water, toilets, and other basic facilities are available;
check the functioning of Anganwadi centers; verify school infrastructure; and review student enrollment in government schools,” he said.
Cancer screening camps have been set up across the district, he said, adding that early diagnosis of cancer will assist in recovery.
