Collector inspects sites identified for new govt college

District collector K Tharpagaraj inspected both temporary and permanent sites that were selected to establish a new government arts and science college in the district.
The temporary location identified for the college is the campus of Vivekananda Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chengam. A piece of land in Puthukulam was identified to construct the college. The collector inspected both the sites.

Chief Minister MK Stalin recently made an announcement of a new arts and science college, benefiting both girls and boys. Following the announcement, the district administration has begun identifying suitable places to establish the college.

During the inspection, the collector instructed officials to immediately arrange basic facilities such as classrooms, seating, electric fans, lights, and restrooms, as the college is set to open in the first week of July.
Later, he inspected the land in Puthukulam, located in Kariyamangalam Panchayat of Chengam Taluk, which has been selected as the permanent site for the college.

The inspection was attended by the District Revenue Officer, Vellore Zonal Joint Director, Tahsildar, and various government department officials.
