Music genius Ilayaraja has been announced by the Union Government as a nominated member of the RajyaSabha. All Tamilians are happy that he got this honour.
Ilayaraja is the one who has bound all Tamilians with his music. He has composed music for more than 1447 films. He is the only Indian artist to have composed a symphony.
Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and other prestigious awards for his musical achievements made him proud. He has won the National Award for Best Music Composer several times.
Now the Union Government has honored him by appointing him as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. Similarly, Olympic gold medalist P.T Usha from Kerala, Veerendra Heggade, a Philanthropist from Karnataka, and Vijayendra Prasad, eminent film maker and screen writer from Andhra have also been announced as nominated members of the Rajya Sabha.
All of them are from South Indian states. This is seen by political commentators as BJP's focus on the southern states. A strategy of BJP to strengthen the party? In any case, the fact that the Union government is proud of South Indian celebrities is to be welcomed even if politics is hidden behind it. There is no need for politics. No need for reviews.
Because all the four including Ilayaraja are qualified to become MPs. It is good that the Union Government has honored them.We thank the Union Government and congratulate all four!
