Out of the three elections held in the last ten years since the 2014 election, the Congress party has reached triple digits in number of seats won in this election.
In the 2014 elections, the Congress won only 44 seats out of a total of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies. Five years later, in the 2019 elections, the party did not see much difference. The party won 52 seats in that election.
However, this time, the Congress has progressed little by little and secured 100 seats. The sudden rise of the Congress is seen as a threat to the BJP and its led NDA.
Even though more than twenty parties across the country came together and formed an alliance in the name of 'INDIA', the expectation was from the beginning that only Congress would win in how many constituencies.
Was it Rahul Gandhi's all-India walk last year that led to the Congress's resurgence?
Did people not accept that Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in jail for defaming Prime Minister Modi during the 2019 election campaign? Did the voters not accept that the enforcement department, CBI and IT arrested only the Chief Ministers, Ministers and Leaders of the Opposition?
Didn't the people accept that the Modi government did not take action against only those who joined the BJP because of corruption and malpractice, but they became saints and gave them the opportunity to contest elections?
Didn't people like Modi unnecessarily criticizing late national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi during the campaign and campaigning on religion?
It is not an exaggeration to say that the Congress Party has lost but has resurged because of the questions people posed to themselves and answeredit to themselves.
No matter which party comes to power, if the opposition is strong, democracy
will not fail.
When the ruling party oversteps its bounds, only a strong opposition has the power to stop it. Congress got that in this election.
This is indeed a triump for the Congress!
