Coop banks disburse Rs 512.05 cr crop loan

The primary agriculture coop banks (PACB) disbursed Rs 512.05 cr crop loan to 40638 farmers in the district this year.
At the annual coop week celebration held at Erode Vellalar School on Saturday, Mayor Nagarathinam Subramaniam, deputy mayor Selvaraj, MP Ganesamurthy, Coop joint registrar Rajkumar and many officials presided and distributed prizes to various coop institutions for their best performance last year. 
In her speech, Chinthamani MD and Joint Registrar Senthamarai said that 163 PACBs in the district have Rs 16.23 cr worth farm machineries to rent it out at low cost to ryots, disbursed Rs 67.78 cr worth capital loan to 11731 ryots, Rs. 5.68 cr crop loan to 645 SC ST ryots, Rs 37.78 cr crop loan to 3524 new members, Rs 5.73 cr loan to 591 diffables, Rs 54.4 lakh loan to 136 women, Rs 1.55 cr loan to 54 working women, and Rs 24.30 lakh housing loan to 328 persons this year. Of 163 PACBs, 113 have over Rs 5 cr each business turnover per year. All banks have safety lockers, 222 godowns to keep farm goods, and 177 e service centres, 1194 ration shops having 7.62 lakh ration cards, she said.
